Terms of service

The plain-English version of what you agree to when you book us, and what we agree to do in return. Deposits, changes, cancellations and who is responsible for what.

What you're agreeing to

When you accept a quote from Gourmet Catering Hub Pty Ltd, these terms form the contract. They are written to protect both sides: you get a guaranteed service at a fixed price, and we get enough certainty to order, staff and plan properly. Nothing here removes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Quotes and bookings

Quotes are valid for 14 days from issue. A booking is confirmed when we receive your 20% deposit and written acceptance (email is fine). Until then, your date stays open for other clients, which is why popular Saturdays go fast.

Your quote locks the per-person price. Final guest numbers are confirmed 7 days before the event and can flex up to 10% either way without penalty.

Payment

  • Deposit — 20% of the quoted total, due on booking.
  • Balance — due 7 days before the event, based on your final confirmed numbers.
  • Methods — bank transfer and all major cards. Corporate clients can apply for 14-day account terms.
  • Late payment — events unpaid at 48 hours out may be cancelled with the deposit retained.

Changes and cancellations

You can change menu selections, timing and format any time up to 7 days before the event at no charge. Changes inside 7 days are accommodated where possible but may affect the price.

Cancellations follow our refund policy: full deposit back more than 90 days out, a sliding scale after that, and credit options if you want to rebook rather than refund.

If we have to cancel (which has happened once in 11 years), you get everything back in full plus our help finding a replacement caterer.

What we are responsible for

  • Preparing food safely under our Food Act 2001 (SA) registration and food-safety program.
  • Arriving on time with the staff, food and equipment listed in your quote.
  • Maintaining $20M public liability insurance and liquor licensing for events we serve.
  • Leaving the venue's kitchen and service areas clean.
  • Telling you promptly if anything on our side goes wrong, with a plan to fix it.

What you are responsible for

  • Accurate guest numbers and dietary information by the confirmation deadline.
  • Venue access for setup and pack-down, including parking or bump-in arrangements.
  • Any venue permits, council approvals or site fees required for your location.
  • Power and water access where quoted as required, unless we have arranged self-sufficient setup.
  • Telling us about venue quirks — stairs, no lift, shared kitchens — before the day.

Liability and governing law

Our liability for any claim connected to a booking is limited to the amount you paid for the event, except where Australian Consumer Law says otherwise. We are not liable for delays caused by events outside our control (extreme weather, venue failures, road closures), though we will always work with you on a remedy.

These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia. Disputes go to SA courts or tribunals, though we have resolved every disagreement so far over a phone call, not a courtroom.
